March 6, 2020

Yageo announced yesterday that it plans to increase production capacity at its Kaohsiung production site to meet customers' urgent passive component needs. In addition, Yageo also announced the recruitment of employees, including 1,500 production line workers and 100 engineers.

Yageo said that due to the rebound in market demand and the COVID-19 epidemic affecting the production capacity of its factories in mainland China, the current supply of passive components is tight. Therefore, in addition to adjusting production lines in mainland China, Yageo also plans to recruit new employees and increase the production capacity of the Kaohsiung production site to meet rising demand.

As for when the capacity increase can be achieved, Yageo has not announced so far. SemiMedia will follow and report in a timely manner.
