May 13, 2025 /SemiMedia/ — TDK Corporation has introduced the TDK-Lambda i9C series, a new non-isolated DC-DC buck-boost power module designed for industrial and battery-powered equipment that need high power efficiency and lower heat generation.

The new series delivers up to 1500W output power. The first model supports a 9V to 80V input range and provides 9.6V to 60V output with up to 30A output current. TDK said another version with up to 50A output current is planned for release later to support more system power designs.

A key feature of the i9C series is TDK-Lambda’s patented programmable high-efficiency pass-through technology. The function allows the module to directly pass input power to the output within a selected voltage range, reducing switching losses during operation.

With the pass-through mode enabled, the module can reach up to 99% efficiency. The design helps lower thermal stress and improve power performance in battery-powered systems where energy efficiency and operating temperature are critical.

The launch comes as demand for high-efficiency power conversion continues to grow across industrial automation and robotics markets. Applications such as AGVs, AMRs, humanoid robots and commercial drones increasingly require compact power systems with better thermal control and longer battery runtime.

The i9C series uses a wide quarter-brick package with an integrated baseplate that supports convection, conduction and forced-air cooling. The design targets systems operating in high-temperature or limited-airflow environments.

The modules also include remote sense, power-good signal, adjustable overcurrent protection and low-power sleep mode functions. According to TDK, these features can help engineers simplify external circuit design and reduce standby power use during light-load conditions.

TDK said the i9C family is aimed at industrial equipment, communications infrastructure, test and measurement systems, and battery-powered platforms. The products comply with IEC/UL/CSA/EN 62368-1 safety standards and carry CE, UKCA and RoHS certifications.
