Samsung Electro-Mechanics Wins $210 Million AI Server MLCC and Inductor Supply Deal

September 30, 2026 / SemiMedia / — Samsung Electro-Mechanics has signed a supply contract worth more than KRW285 billion, or approximately $210 million, with a major global company for multilayer ceramic capacitors and inductors used in AI servers.

The agreement runs from January 1 through December 31, 2027 and represents about 2.5% of Samsung Electro-Mechanics' KRW11.31 trillion consolidated revenue in 2025. The customer and other key terms were withheld for business confidentiality, and no deposit or advance payment was disclosed.

MLCCs help stabilize voltage and current while reducing signal interference, while inductors are widely used for power conversion, energy storage and filtering. AI servers place higher demands on both components because of their much higher power density, large current fluctuations and continuous operating requirements.

The agreement is Samsung Electro-Mechanics' fifth publicly disclosed long-term supply contract in 2026. Earlier deals included a KRW1.557 trillion silicon capacitor contract, a KRW453.9 billion MLCC agreement, another MLCC contract worth KRW295.1 billion, and a KRW1.0722 trillion AI server MLCC agreement announced earlier in September. Combined, the five contracts exceed KRW3.6 trillion, or about $2.65 billion.

Four of the MLCC and inductor agreements are scheduled for delivery throughout 2027 and have a combined value of approximately KRW2.1062 trillion, equivalent to about 18.6% of Samsung Electro-Mechanics' 2025 consolidated revenue. The silicon capacitor contract covers deliveries from 2027 through 2028.

Samsung Electro-Mechanics currently maintains long-term MLCC supply agreements with more than 10 global customers and is negotiating additional contracts. AI servers can use more than 10 times as many MLCCs as conventional servers, while GPUs, memory, networking and power systems also require increasing quantities of high-performance passive components.

The latest agreement further strengthens Samsung Electro-Mechanics' exposure to AI infrastructure demand as the company expands high-reliability MLCC, power inductor and silicon capacitor products for data center applications.
