onsemi acquires Vcore power technology

SemiMediaEdit
November 3, 2025

November 3, 2025 /SemiMedia/ — onsemi said it has completed the acquisition of Vcore power technologies and related IP licenses from Aura Semiconductor, expanding its position in high-power delivery for AI data centers.

AI servers increasingly require 800 VDC distribution, solid-state transformers and more efficient core power rails as rack power moves beyond 10 kW. Analysts say onsemi’s silicon and silicon carbide portfolio had already covered most of the high-voltage side, while Vcore fills a key gap near the core power domain.

With this deal, onsemi becomes one of the few suppliers able to offer a power path from grid-level conversion to core power rail modules, a capability that could translate into stronger pricing power as hyperscale AI capex enters its next phase.
