Jan. 30, 2023 /SemiMedia/ -- Murata recently announced that Saitama Murata Manufacturing Co., Ltd. will close its overseas subsidiary Huacheng TOKO Electronics Co., Ltd. on January 31, 2023 and subsidiary COILTEC Co., Ltd. in Japan on April 30, 2023.

The Saitama Murata Manufacturing Co., Ltd. group develops and manufactures coil products primarily for the telecommunications market. However, it is facing a difficult business environment due to the diversification of market demand in key markets such as the smartphone market, accelerated development cycles, and intensified competition.

As the factory operations center, Huacheng TOKO Electronics oversaw business management, and COILTEC was responsible for the design, manufacture, and sales of manufacturing equipment for coil products and other components, as well as development support and testing.

Murata said in the announcement that in the future, Saitama Murata Manufacturing Co., Ltd. will take over the work of COILTEC.
