October 20, 2026 / SemiMedia / — Infineon has introduced the PSOC Control C3 Main Line PSC3M/P6 microcontrollers for multi-motor control and digital power conversion. The devices use an Arm Cortex-M33 core running at up to 180 MHz and can control as many as four brushless DC motors from a single MCU, supporting both sensored and sensorless configurations.
For time-critical control tasks, the family combines fast, precise analog processing with digital control. Target applications include multi-motor systems, power factor correction (PFC) and high-speed motors, where control-loop response and accuracy affect system performance and efficiency. The devices also support power conversion designs using wide-bandgap semiconductors. On-chip operational amplifiers provide analog signal-conditioning capabilities, while USB and I3C interfaces extend system connectivity.
Infineon offers PSC3M6 devices for motor control and PSC3P6 devices for power conversion. Applications range from industrial drives, drones and robotics to renewable energy systems, telecommunications servers and data center power supplies. The portfolio provides scalable options across features, packages, pinouts, memory, software and performance.
Firmware protection includes SHA-512 and LMS signature verification for secure boot and firmware updates, meeting the firmware-protection requirements of CNSA 2.0 for post-quantum cryptography. These functions verify firmware authenticity and integrity before code is accepted for execution or installation. The family also supports PSA Level 3 enablement and is DICE-ready, providing capabilities for developers building a device trust foundation.
ModusToolbox Motor Suite and Power Suite supply graphical configuration tools, control libraries and development resources for motor and power applications. The ecosystem also includes ModusToolbox AI Assistant to assist development and migration from other platforms.
PSC3M/P6 devices are available now in multiple package options with up to 100 pins.
