August 26, 2026 / SemiMedia / — Gartner forecasts worldwide semiconductor revenue will reach $1.555 trillion in 2026, up 92% from $809 billion in 2025. Revenue is expected to increase further to $1.94 trillion in 2027.

Continued investment in AI infrastructure and stronger-than-expected memory pricing are the main drivers of the expansion. Memory revenue is forecast to rise from $220.1 billion in 2025 to $837.3 billion in 2026, accounting for 54% of total semiconductor revenue compared with 27% last year. The figure is expected to reach $1.076 trillion in 2027.

DRAM revenue is projected to increase 246.6% in 2026, while NAND flash revenue is forecast to rise 371.9%. Although additional production capacity is expected in 2027, continued AI infrastructure deployment, higher memory content per AI server and sustained HBM demand are expected to keep supply-demand conditions tight.

Non-memory semiconductor revenue is forecast to grow 21.9%, from $589 billion in 2025 to $717.9 billion in 2026, before reaching $864.4 billion in 2027. Growth is expected across AI processors, networking semiconductors and data center power devices.

Gartner expects AI data center-related semiconductors to increase their share of worldwide semiconductor revenue from 36.5% in 2026 to more than 53% by 2030.
