On September 25, Avnet announced a partnership with Alibaba Group to open the Avnet online flagship store on Alibaba's B2B sourcing platform focused on the Chinese market.

By opening a flagship store on the Alibaba platform, Avnet will further enhance its global e-commerce strategy, while promoting the rapid development of its e-commerce business in China, providing better service to Chinese customers, especially small and medium-sized enterprises.

Through the online flagship store, engineers and developers can access Avnet's electronic components and leverage ideas from Avanti's powerful ecosystem resources and technical experts to move ideas from design to prototyping to production. The opening of the flagship store is another example of Avnet's commitment to reducing the complexity of IoT solutions for customers around the world.

Nishant Nishant, vice president of Avnet's Digital Business Unit, said: "Avnet and Alibaba will help Chinese developers accelerate the prototyping of IoT products. With Avnet flagship stores, Chinese developers can easily get versatile products that integrate hardware and cloud. Moreover, Avnet's unique team of ecosystems and technical experts can help them overcome the challenges of prototyping and mass production, bringing IoT solutions to market quickly."
