Renesas issues price increase notice

SemiMediaEdit
December 2, 2020

According to the supply chain, on November 30, semiconductor manufacturer Renesas Electronics sent a product price increase notice to customers, and the effective date of the price increase is January 1, 2021.

The notice mentioned that due to the increase in raw material and packaging costs, Renesas Electronics will increase the prices of some legacy analog and power products. Renesas Electronics also explained that the recent increase in inventory costs and the risk of product transportation have forced the company to raise prices to ensure that these products can continue to be put into production.

The notice also stated that customer orders shipped before January 1, 2021 will receive shipment at the present prie. All existing and new orders with shipment on or after January 1, 2021 will be processed at the new price.
