Murata Electronics (Malaysia) Sdn.Bhd. (Perak, Malaysia), a production subsidiary of Murata Manufacturing Co., Ltd., recently announced the completion of the construction of a new production facility that was started in October 2018.

The new facility covers an area of 23,007 square meters, with a construction area of 7,699 square meters, and a total investment of 4 billion yen. It will be used to produce chip inductors, noise filters, and common mode choke coils.

According to Murata, the new production facility is designed to adapt to the further growth of global demand to expand its production capacity in response to growing demand for electronic components for progressively sophisticated mobile devices (smartphones, etc.), as well as for electric vehicles.
