The figure above shows the top ten IC market segments with the fastest growth in 2020. In 2019, NAND flash and DRAM are the two with the lowest growth rates of all IC product categories, but the situation in 2020 will be very different. It is expected that NAND flash and DRAM will be among the three fastest-growing categories this year. With reference to sales in 2019, it is expected that these two products will once again become the two largest IC sales categories in 2020. In addition, as shown in the figure, 8 categories of IC sales are expected to grow by 8% or more this year. In the three-year sales situation shown in the figure, the two products of automotive-specific logic chips and embedded MPUs are the fastest growing categories.

The above chart shows the growth rate distribution of 33 IC products in 2019 and IC Insights' forecast for 2020. According to the chart, a total of 26 IC products are expected to grow positively in 2020, while only 6 products achieved positive growth last year. In 2020, 5 products are expected to achieve growth of more than 10%, which is higher than 2019, but much lower than 2018, as 17 products achieved more than 10% growth in 2018.

In addition, IC Insights predicts that seven categories of products will experience a year-on-year growth stagnation or decline in 2020.
