Data show that in the first quarter of last year, Samsung's semiconductor sales totaled 18.491 billion US dollars, 22.5% more than Intel. This year, Intel's first quarter revenue was 15.799 billion US dollars, 22.7% more than Samsung's 12.678 billion US dollars.

IC Insights pointed out that in the first quarter of this year, global semiconductor output value decreased by 13% compared with the same period of last year, while the revenue of the top 15 semiconductor factories in the first quarter was reduced by 16%. Among them, Samsung, SK Hynix and Micron, the three major memory manufacturers, were highly fluctuated by the DRAM and NAND Flash markets. The revenue in the first quarter of last year increased by more than 40%, and the revenue in the first quarter of this year was reduced by more than 26%.

In addition, it is worth noting that Sony and Huawei's Hisilicon entered the top 15 for the first time in the first quarter. TSMC's first quarter revenue was $7.096 billion, down 16% year-on-year, maintaining third place. SK Hynix and Micron's first quarter revenues were $6.023 billion and $5.475 billion, respectively, down 26% and 27% annually. Hisilicon's first quarter performance was outstanding, with revenues of $1.755 billion and an annual increase of 41%. It is the company with the largest growth in the first quarter of the top 15 semiconductor factories.
