Maxim Integrated Products, Inc. announces industry's most efficient and smallest power management ICs, the MAX20004 / 6/8, MAX20034, and MAX20098, these power management ICs deliver low quiescent current for digital dashboards and radio head units, improved noise performance and EMI suppression, help automotive designers address the space and power challenges of next-generation automotive applications.

Today's automotive systems are becoming more complex as electronic components become more sophisticated, requiring higher power microprocessors for functional control and supervision. According to analyst firm IHS Markit, with the more powerful dashboards, USB hubs, advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) and infotainment and navigation systems, by 2026, the annual growth rate of power management ICs will reach 10%. This growth model presents designers with multiple challenges in managing power consumption, efficiency, EMI, and solution size to achieve the performance required for harsh, space-constrained automotive operating environments.

To ensure that designers achieve these goals, Maxim's automotive-grade IC family offers many options to manage DC power. Maxim's buck converter package measures 3.5mm x 3.75mm, making it the industry's smallest solution size. All ICs feature spread-spectrum modulation, high switching frequency, forced pulse width modulation and skip mode operation for best-in-class performance.
