February 13, 2026 /SemiMedia/ — Texas Instruments (TI) has inaugurated a new advanced semiconductor research and development centre in Bengaluru, India, aimed at expanding its chip design and engineering capabilities.

The facility features multiple integrated circuit design labs and an end-to-end reliability lab to test products under various environmental conditions. Union Minister for Electronics and Information Technology Ashwini Vaishnaw attended the opening and highlighted TI’s role in developing India’s semiconductor design talent.

TI said the new centre strengthens its work in analog and embedded processing technologies and enhances its ability to support customers and India’s electronics design ecosystem.

India has seen increasing semiconductor investments focused on design and engineering. Other multinational firms are also expanding R&D centres and engineering teams in Bengaluru, Hyderabad and Noida. Government policies in 2026 continue to prioritize design capabilities, talent development and ecosystem readiness alongside manufacturing and packaging initiatives.

TI, which established the first multinational semiconductor R&D centre in India in 1985, has steadily expanded its local footprint. The company recently opened an additional sales office to engage more closely with customers. As global semiconductor companies distribute product development worldwide, India remains a key location for chip design and engineering execution. The new Bengaluru centre adds capacity in areas critical to global semiconductor development.
