October 8, 2025 /SemiMedia/ — South Korean artificial intelligence chip startup Rebellions said it has raised $250 million in a Series C round, giving the company a $1.4 billion valuation, as it seeks to ramp up chip production and accelerate product development in the competitive AI market.

The funding round brought in strategic partner Arm, which will work with Rebellions to drive innovation in next-generation data center infrastructure. The company said it will also use the capital to expand its footprint in the United States, Europe and Asia-Pacific, hiring talent and supporting the rollout of localized AI systems.

Investors in the round included Samsung Ventures and Pegatron VC, while existing backers such as Korea Development Bank and Korelya Capital increased their commitments. New international participants, including Lion X Ventures, also joined.

In August, Rebellions introduced its flagship REBEL-Quad chip, designed for large-scale AI inference. The move comes as startups vie for position in a sector dominated by Nvidia and AMD. Rival players have also attracted significant investment: U.S.-based Groq raised $750 million this month at a $6.9 billion valuation, while South Korean competitor FuriosaAI is preparing to raise more than $300 million ahead of a potential IPO.
