October 7, 2025 /SemiMedia/ — Infineon Technologies has extended its OptiMOS™ 7 power MOSFET portfolio from automotive into industrial and consumer markets, offering tailored solutions for high-performance switching, motor drives and low RDS(on)-focused designs.

The 25 V range, optimized for switching applications, targets intermediate bus converters for 48 V systems, telecom power supplies and server platforms. The lineup includes devices for both hard- and soft-switching topologies. Compared with the OptiMOS 5 generation, the new devices achieve up to 20% lower RDS(on) and as much as 25% better figures of merit, depending on the optimization type.

The 40 V family focuses on motor-drive applications. These MOSFETs deliver lower RDS(on), enhanced gate characteristics and stronger noise immunity, with a safe operating area about three times wider than the prior generation. Improved current distribution and reduced voltage overshoot enhance performance under demanding operating conditions, making them suitable for drives, power tools and garden equipment.

Packaging options include source-down PQFN 3.3x3.3 with bottom and dual-side cooling for the 25 V range, while the 40 V devices are available in SuperSO8 (5x6) and PQFN 3.3x3.3 packages. For more information, please visit the OptiMOS 7 25 V portfolio and the OptiMOS 7 40 V motor-drives optimized portfolio
