September 11, 2025 /SemiMedia/ — Microchip Technology has expanded its corporate social responsibility initiatives in India, focusing on education, vocational training and community development to cultivate the next generation of semiconductor industry talent. The company’s efforts support local workforce readiness while reinforcing its R&D and engineering capabilities in India.

Microchip’s programs include rebuilding schools and improving access in rural Bengaluru, constructing new schools in Karnataka, upgrading educational centers in Chennai, and establishing innovation labs in Hyderabad. These initiatives provide hands-on STEM learning resources, teacher training, and opportunities for female students, promoting practical skills aligned with semiconductor and technology sector needs.

“Education and innovation are central to sustainable development,” said Srikanth Settikere, vice president and managing director of Microchip’s India Development Center. “By combining high-efficiency semiconductor product development with community initiatives, Microchip helps clients reduce resource consumption while fostering resilient communities.”

Beyond education, Microchip’s CSR spans environmental stewardship, healthcare, and broader community engagement. Its Sustainability Megatrend team integrates eco-friendly practices into operations, strengthening the company’s social responsibility and technological influence within the semiconductor industry. Microchip’s long-term investments align with India’s growing semiconductor market, abundant engineering talent, and supportive policy environment, enhancing its global R&D and product innovation footprint.
