September 9, 2025 /SemiMedia/ — ROHM has introduced the ultra-compact CMOS operational amplifier TLR1901GXZ, designed to deliver ultra-low power consumption with an operating current of just 160nA (typical). The device is optimized for sensor-based applications in handheld instruments, wearables, and motion detection systems where both accuracy and space efficiency are critical.

Demand for advanced sensing in battery-powered devices continues to grow, covering parameters such as temperature, humidity, pressure, and flow rate. ROHM’s latest amplifier addresses these needs by combining its proprietary Nano Energy™ technology with advanced packaging and process design, achieving three essential requirements: reduced power consumption, improved accuracy, and miniaturization.

The TLR1901GXZ uses a wafer-level chip-scale package (WLCSP) with a footprint below 1mm² and a fine 0.35mm pitch, enabling high-density board mounting. Its input offset voltage is capped at 0.55mV, roughly 45% lower than comparable products, while its temperature drift remains limited to 7uV/°C, ensuring precise performance across wide operating ranges.

To enhance design flexibility, the op amp can be paired with ROHM’s compact resistors, including the MCR004 and MCR006 series, suitable for gain adjustments. The MCR004E variant is fully lead-free, supporting environmentally friendly designs. Evaluation boards in SSOP5 package are also available to facilitate initial testing and replacement.

ROHM plans to further advance ultra-low power and compact amplifier technologies by reducing noise and offset while broadening supply voltage ranges. These improvements aim to support higher accuracy in sensor control and contribute to sustainable innovation across industries.

The TLR1901GXZ is now available at an estimated sample price of $2.1 per unit (excluding tax). For more information, please visit https://www.rohm.com/products/amplifiers-and-linear/operational-amplifiers/low-power/input-output-full-swing/tlr1901gxz-product.
