May 15, 2025 /SemiMeida/ — Infineon Technologies AG has unveiled the PSOC™ 4100T Plus microcontroller, a compact and versatile solution combining system control and human-machine interface (HMI) capabilities in a single chip. Featuring an Arm® Cortex®-M0+ core and Infineon’s proprietary Multi-Sense technology, the device targets next-generation applications in automotive, consumer electronics, and industrial markets.

The PSOC 4100T Plus integrates advanced sensing technologies such as fifth-generation CAPSENSE™ capacitive touch, inductive sensing over metal surfaces, machine-learning-based liquid level detection, and hover touch functionality for non-contact input through air gaps. It also supports up to 256 sensing nodes, enabling high-resolution finger tracking for touchpads and 4-inch touchscreens with multi-finger gesture support.

Designed for reliability-critical environments, the MCU offers 6500 V ESD (HBM) protection and 1% internal oscillator accuracy. Its waterproof and noise-resistant design makes it ideal for outdoor or harsh usage scenarios such as home appliances and industrial equipment.

Infineon provides a comprehensive development ecosystem for Multi-Sense applications, including CAPSENSE Tuner, inductive and liquid sensing design guides, and a machine learning model trainer that compensates for hardware tolerances and varying structural conditions.

The PSOC 4100T Plus is now available. More details can be found at www.infineon.com/psoc4100TPlus
