January 12, 2024 /SemiMedia/ -- According to the financial report released by GlobalWafers, the company's consolidated revenue in December 2023 reached NT$6.43 billion, a monthly increase of 22.71% and an annual increase of 6.38%. In addition, the company's full-year consolidated revenue in 2023 reached NT$70.65 billion, an annual increase of 0.52%.

Doris Hsu, chairwoman of GlobalWafers, pointed out that the semiconductor market size will grow by 13% to 20% annually in 2024, so she is optimistic about the prospects of the silicon wafer industry.

Doris Hsu said that customers will still have inventory to be digested in the first half of 2024, but the production volume will definitely return to normal levels in 2025.

"Although customers' revenue has increased, they are still digesting inventory. The first quarter is expected to be weak, the second quarter is flat or slightly increased, and there will be growth in the second half," Doris Hsu said.
