Taiyo Yuden announces production of its Changzhou factory

January 3, 2024 /SemiMedia/ -- Taiyo Yuden recently announced that the first phase of its Changzhou factory has officially been put into operation and production.

According to Taiyo Yuden, its Changzhou factory mainly produces multilayer ceramic capacitors. The project has a total investment of US$1.5 billion and will be constructed in three phases. Among them, the first phase has a total investment of US$600 million. Construction started at the end of 2021, and the completion acceptance was completed in June 2023.

As the second production base in China, Taiyo Yuden (Changzhou) Electronics Co., Ltd. is a state-of-the-art factory manufacturing high-quality multilayer ceramic capacitors for electric vehicles, with an annual output value of approximately RMB 1 billion after the first phase of production is put into operation. After reaching capacity, it will have an annual production capacity of 21.2 billion chip multilayer ceramic capacitors.

"Taiyo Yuden's products are widely used in electronic products such as mobile phones, computers and game consoles. The development of advanced driver assistance systems and technological advancements in electric vehicles will create greater demand for multilayer ceramic capacitors in the future," Taiyo Yuden Katsuya Sase, CEO of Taiyo Yuden.
