September 7, 2023 /SemiMedia/ -- According to industry insiders, following Samsung’s increase in NAND prices in August, Micron has also begun to increase NAND Flash wafer contract prices by about 10% since September.

In early August, rumors spread in the supply chain that Samsung had notified customers that it intended to increase the price of 512Gb NAND Flash wafers to $1.60, an increase of about 15% from the price of $1.40 in early 2023.

It is reported that the NAND Flash module factory in mainland China has also suspended quotations and orders in August, and will increase the module price by 8% to 10% according to Samsung's quotation. Industry insiders said that the price increase will gradually push the price of NAND Flash back to the manufacturing cost line.

According to reports, after the NAND Flash spot market price has been pushed up by the wafer contract price recently, inquiries have become active.
