Dec. 1, 2022 /SemiMedia/ -- Renesas Electronics Corporation has announced that Renesas has been awarded "Outstanding Strategic Partner" by BYD Auto. BYD held the BYD NEV (New Energy Vehicle) Core Supplier Convention 2022 in Shenzhen, China earlier this month, at which the winning companies were announced and congratulated.

The award, first presented in 2021, is the highest honor for BYD's supplier partners and is used to reward suppliers who share the same vision about NEV industry as BYD, broadly and deeply cooperated with BYD through outstanding performance in technology, quality, delivery management, and other fields. This is also the second consecutive year that Renesas has won the award.

"Renesas is honored to be the winner of this award, and I am very grateful to BYD for its recognition," says Mingyu Zhao, Vice President of Automotive Solutions Business Unit, Renesas Electronics. "As an excellent supplier of automotive electronic products and system technology, Renesas will, as always, continue to work hand in hand with BYD and contribute to BYD's journey to become a global leader in the new energy vehicle industry."

"We are very impressed by Renesas’ sincere cooperative spirit and highly appreciated Renesas team's great efforts and contributions," says Robert Wang, Chief Procurement Officer of BYD Company Limited. "We expect Renesas and BYD to lead the era of new energy vehicles in the future together."
