Insider: TSMC won't change plans for 2023 price increase

According to industry sources, TSMC has seen customers cut orders for next year, but it will still raise prices by about 6% in 2023.

In addition to Apple, TSMC customers can defer orders scheduled to be fulfilled next year, but even for high-volume orders in 2023, TSMC has no plans to cut prices or offer discounts, the sources said.

The insider pointed out that TSMC's other major customers other than Apple, including AMD, MediaTek, Nvidia and Qualcomm, have begun negotiations with TSMC to revise orders for next year or delay deliveries.

Despite the overall order reduction in 2023, TSMC will still run its 22/28nm and 5nm production lines at full capacity, and the foundry has also secured 3nm order commitments from Apple and Intel, with mass production expected to begin next year.
