NXP Semiconductors recently announced that it has joined Silicon Catalyst, the world’s leading incubator focused exclusively on accelerating semiconductor solutions, as the group’s newest Strategic Partner. Silicon Catalyst provides support to semiconductor hardware startups as they move from idea through prototype to initial product.

Silicon Catalyst will connect NXP to their ecosystem of semiconductor hardware startups on the front lines of developing market leading innovations in the areas of AI/ML, wireless, power and connectivity, among many others. The insights provided by the collaboration between the two organizations will help NXP continue to innovate across the Internet of Things, automotive, AI, 5G communications and more.

“When it comes to the innovations of today that will define our industry’s future, startups are in the vanguard, creating new products based on new ideas that will change our world for the better. Incubators like Silicon Catalyst help us not only identify these up-and-coming innovators, but also help them to bring those innovations to fruition as we work together to create a smarter world.” said Lars Reger, executive vice president and CTO at NXP.

“Bringing NXP’s long history of innovation into the Silicon Catalyst incubator community gives our portfolio companies a leg-up as they work to productize the next generation of solutions for their target markets. This relationship not only connects NXP with our community of semiconductor pioneers, but also brings NXP’s deep industry expertise to our community, who will benefit enormously from that expertise.” said Pete Rodriguez, CEO of Silicon Catalyst.
