According to the latest report of TrendForce, high inflation is affecting the market demand of electronic products, among which consumer products such as mobile phones, laptops, tablets, and TVs have a significant impact. As a result, the demand for consumer MLCCs has fallen, and the market inventory has continued to rise.

The report pointed out that the average inventory level of consumer MLCCs of various sizes has reached more than 90 days, and it is estimated that the average price of consumer MLCCs will drop by 3% to 6% in the second half of the year.

According to TrendForce analysis, due to the strict epidemic prevention and control policies in mainland China, the local manufacturing industry was forced to temporarily suspend production, and the capacity gap caused by the shutdown in the second quarter will be difficult to fill in the second half of the year.

However, TrendForce said that the demand for automotive, HPC high-speed computing, network communication equipment, industrial automation, energy storage system equipment, etc. is still stable, coupled with the slowdown in demand for consumer products in the second half of the year, driving semiconductor IDM companies to transfer production capacity, which is expected to alleviate the shortage of semiconductors and drive customer demand for automotive, industrial control, and high-end MLCCs.

TrendForce estimates that in the second half of the year, driven by the demand for automotive, server, and network products, the overall MLCC shipments will reach about 2.580 billion, an increase of 2% compared to the same period last year.
