Canada announces investment in semiconductor industry

According to reports, Canada plans to invest a total of C$240 million in its semiconductor industry to support the manufacturing and research of processor chips in the country.

The report pointed out that the Canadian government recently announced the Semiconductor Challenge Callout, a targeted investment through the Strategic Innovation Fund to enhance Canada’s advantages in semiconductor development and supply.

Canada's semiconductor industry includes more than 100 local and multinational companies engaged in chip research and development. In addition, there are more than 30 applied research laboratories and 5 commercial facilities in areas including compound semiconductors, Micro-Electro-Mechanical System (MEMS) and advanced packaging.
