According to reports, AMD CEO Lisa Su said in an interview with the media recently that the chip shortage is unlikely to end this year.

The U.S. Department of Commerce’s report noted that buyers’ median semiconductor product inventory turns have fallen from 40 days in 2019 to less than 5 days in 2021, with many key products having even shorter inventory turns.

Lisa su pointed out that chip demand is still very strong, and the entire semiconductor industry is increasing investment, including wafer manufacturing, back-end process assets, packaging substrates. AMD is also making progress in improving production capacity, and she believes supply will remain tight in the first half of the year and the situation will improve in the second half.

"AMD is communicating with customers on multi-quarter or multi-year plans to improve the efficiency of the supply chain." She added.
