MediaTek announced yesterday that it will acquire Intel’s Enpirion power management chip product line through its subsidiary Richtek. The total transaction value is estimated to be approximately US$85 million. The transaction completion date is tentatively set in the fourth quarter, and the actual date has not been determined.

Intel Enpirion power management modules are mainly DC-to-DC step-down conversion products, which are higher-end solutions on the market that can integrate components required for power management and meet the power requirements of FPGA, ASIC, and CPU.

MediaTek pointed out that the acquisition will expand the company's product line, providing integrated high-frequency and high-efficiency power solutions for FPGA, SoC, CPU, and ASIC, targeting enterprise-level system applications, helping to expand the company's business scale and enhance its operating performance and competitiveness.
