Analyst: Memory chip prices will keep falling in July

June 24, 2020

In 2019, the price of memory chips has been on a downward trend until the end of last year. At that time, the industry believed that the memory chip market would rebound in 2020, especially the market opportunities brought by 5G, will become an important factor for the memory chip market to return to prosperity.

However, judging from the performance in the first half of 2020, the memory chip market not only did not rebound, but continued to fall in price.

According to related reports, the price of DRAM has been steadily declining recently. As of mid-June, the price of 4Gb DDR4 memory chips has fallen below $2, creating a new low since January 2020.

In the past month, the price of memory chips has fallen by 4%, which is completely contrary to expectations at the beginning of the year. In addition, analysts predict that the memory chip market prices will not improve in July, and may continue to fall.
