May 25, 2026 /SemiMedia/ — Diodes Incorporated has expanded its AH371xQ automotive Hall effect latch portfolio with the introduction of the AH3711Q, targeting motor control and position-sensing applications that require ultra-low magnetic thresholds and bipolar switching behavior.

The device uses a proprietary Hall plate design and is intended for brushless DC motor control, valve actuation, rotary encoders and position-sensing systems in automotive applications including power windows, sunroofs, tailgates, seat adjustment motors, cooling fans and fluid pumps.

The AH3711Q features magnetic operate and release points covering ±10 Gauss, enabling detection of weaker magnetic fields and allowing designers to use smaller and lower-cost magnets. According to Diodes, the higher magnetic sensitivity can help reduce overall system size and BOM cost while supporting lower power consumption through more aggressive duty-cycle optimization.

For automotive reliability, the Hall latch operates across a wide 3 V to 27 V input voltage range and integrates reverse blocking protection, Zener clamps and overcurrent protection to withstand 40 V load dumps, reverse polarity conditions and short circuits.

The device also offers 8 kV HBM and 1 kV CDM ESD protection for improved robustness in harsh vehicle environments.

A chopper-stabilized architecture minimizes switch-point drift across the -40°C to +150°C operating temperature range while improving resistance to thermal variation, PCB assembly stress and stray magnetic fields.

The AH3711Q features a typical power-on time of 13 µs to help reduce system-level fault risks. Open-drain outputs provide additional flexibility for external pull-up voltage configurations.

Diodes noted that magnetic operating polarity differs depending on package type, with SOT23 and SIP-3 packages requiring the south pole on the marked side, while the SC59 package requires the south pole on the opposite side.

The AH3711Q is available now at $0.20 in 2,000-piece quantities. A standard-compliance version, AH3711, is also available for industrial and commercial applications. For more information, please visit https://www.diodes.com/part/view/AH3711Q.
