Infineon Technologies said on August 6 that it has signed a two-year extension contract with CEO Reinhard Ploss, through which Ploss will continue to lead the company until the end of 2022. According to the previous contract, the term of Ploss's CEO was originally due on September 30, 2020.

Ploss has been CEO since 2012 and has made significant contributions to the development of Infineon. At present, Infineon is working hard to complete the acquisition of Cypress Semiconductor to consolidate its leading position in the automotive semiconductor field. The contract will help Ploss better implement its long-standing strategic goals

“I am honoured by the trust of the Supervisory Board. With our investment in production, R&D and strategic investment in Cypress's acquisitions, we ensure that Infineon is able to meet the growing demand for microelectronics and new applications." Reinhard Ploss said.
