Texas Instruments has introduced three new amplifiers with high speed and high precision that allow designers to design more accurate circuits for applications where error is critical.

TI's new high-voltage amplifiers offer twice the bandwidth and slew rate of comparable devices, and the OPA2810 and OPA189 designers can use the THS3491 current-feedback amplifier's small signal high-bandwidth, high slew rate, and ±420 mA output current for low distortion and High output power level. For test and measurement systems such as arbitrary waveform generators, laser diode drivers, and highly compatible load-drive applications, the THS3491 is capable of achieving a 10V peak-to-peak output stage at 200 MHz (100Ω load).

The superior precision of these high-voltage amplifiers improves system accuracy while reducing the need for external calibration and minimizing bill of materials. The OPA2810 op amp features industry-leading maximum offset and minimum voltage noise (5.7 nV/√) Hz), for 27V in the 100 to 200 MHz bandwidth range. OPA189 is a zero-drift op amp with ultra-low noise (up to 5.2 nV/√Hz) and the highest frequency. With a lower maximum temperature drift of 0.02μV/°C, the OPA189 also reduces temperature error without correction, increasing system precision over the extended temperature range.

TI's new amplifiers consume up to 80% less power than comparable devices, enabling low-power operation in high-speed designs. The 120MHz OPA2810 op amp delivers 3.6mA of optimum current consumption in both stages with excellent signal-to-noise ratio and distortion performance. Designed for applications requiring high gain and low distortion in power-sensitive designs, the OPA189 is the lowest power zero-drift op amp with 14MHz bandwidth. The device assists engineers in designing high-resolution noise-sensitive industrial systems that consume only 1.3 mA of quiescent current and are subject to analog input modules, batteries, and LCD test equipment.
