According to industry insiders, Kyocera plans to build a new MLCC production line in its factory in Kagoshima Prefecture, Japan, which will be completed in 2021 and is expected to cost approximately US$53 million.

In addition to Kyocera, the world's major producers of MLCC include Murata Manufacturing Co., Ltd., Samsung, Taiyo Yuden, TDK, etc., with market share of 40%, 21%, 12% and 8%, respectively, Kyocera’s market share is relatively low. In the case of rising demand, continued supply is in short supply, coupled with the continuous expansion of competitors. Kyocera is also accelerating its expansion, and its production capacity is now growing at an annual rate of about 30%.

During the period when the MLCC is in shortage, the global market competition has undergone major changes. This expansion of Kyocera is expected to continue to expand its market share in the MLCC market.
