December 29, 2023 /SemiMedia/ -- Samsung Electronics' Wafer Foundry Division recently stated that Samsung's new wafer fab in Taylor, Texas, USA will produce the first wafer in the second half of 2024, and said that the mass production time will be postponed from 2024 to 2025.

In May 2022, Samsung announced that it would invest in the construction of a chip foundry in Tyler, Texas, with an initial investment of US$17 billion and later increased to US$25 billion.

Samsung’s new fab plans to introduce EUV lithography machines with the goal of manufacturing 5nm process chips.
