August 30, 2021

Renesas Electronics Corporation announced last week that it will complete the consolidation of the Shiga Factory (Otsu, Shiga Prefecture, Japan) of Renesas Semiconductor Manufacturing Co., Ltd., a wholly owned subsidiary of Renesas, on August 31, 2021, and transfer the lands to Ark Real Estate Co., Ltd.

Renesas previously announced in June 2018 that the Shiga factory will be consolidated in approximately two to three years, and its silicon production line was closed as of the end of March 2021. Following the partial closure, the remaining compound semiconductor production line will be closed as of the end of August 2021, and the Shiga Factory will be fully consolidated.

The products manufactured at the Shiga Factory will either be transferred to other factories within the Renesas Group or be discontinued. The transfer of the Shiga Factory lands to Ark Real Estate is scheduled to be completed by the end of October 2021.
