Murata announces construction of new R&D building

Murata Manufacturing Co., Ltd. announced that its manufacturing subsidiary Sabae Murata Manufacturing Co., Ltd., located in Sabae, Fukui Prefecture, Japan, will begin construction of a new R&D building in February 2022.

The building has a total of 7 floors, including 6 floors above ground and one underground floor, with a total construction area of 1,797 square meters and a total investment of about 6.4 billion yen. The construction is expected to be completed in August 2023.


The new research and development building will used for developing plating technology suitable for making electronic components smaller, thinner and lighter, as well as the necessary technology to bring it to mass production.
