In response to recent media reports that Micron is building two fabs in Taiwan, Micron today officially confirmed the news of the construction of the A3 fab, but denied the planning of the A5 fab and said it would not increase production capacity.

Micron further pointed out that there is no relevant planning for the A5 plant, and the construction of the A3 plant is mainly to increase the space and technology upgrade of the clean room equipment, and will not increase the wafer output. The plant is expected to be completed in the fourth quarter of next year. However, for the amount of investment, Micron did not disclose the details.
