Kyocera Corporation recently announced that it will build a new production facility at the company's Kokubu Plant site in Kagoshima to expand its multilayer ceramic capacitor (MLCC) production capacity.

Kyocera said that markets such as 5G data centers and smart cars are driving demand for MLCCs, and the new production facility will ensure Kyocera's future delivery capabilities.

According to Kyocera's plan, the company will first start the dismantling of the existing process research and development facilities in September this year, and then build a new production facility at the same location in February 2023. It is expected to be completed and put into operation in May 2024, with a total investment of 15 billion yuan. Yen, and the annual output value is expected to reach 20 billion yen after full production.
