August 3, 2022

According to sources in the memory module industry, the spot price of memory chips has continued to fall, and the spot price of 8Gb DDR4 DRAM has fallen by 10%.

The sources pointed out that contract prices are expected to fall sharply in the third quarter as DRAM spot prices continue to decline. In addition, NAND flash memory is more oversupplied than DRAM chips.

It is expected that as the shortage of DRAM eases in the fourth quarter, the demand may grow slowly; the oversupply of NAND Flash is not expected to ease before the end of the year. The source pointed out that the inventory of chip manufacturers and module suppliers is about 10-12 weeks, and the inventory of end customers is not much.
