Indie Semiconductor, headquartered in Aliso Viejo, California, mainly produces semiconductors and software for driver assistance systems and self-driving cars. In 2023, Indie Semiconductor acquired GEO Semiconductor, which produces video processors for automotive cameras.

The company has been working with an adviser to drum up interest from potential buyers, the insider said. They said Indie Semiconductor could draw interest from industry players and even private equity firms.

The insider pointed out that it is not certain whether the deliberations will lead to a transaction, and Indie Semiconductor may choose to remain independent.
