Feb. 22, 2023 /SemiMedia/ -- According to reports, Infineon said last Thursday that it has been approved to build a semiconductor factory worth 5 billion euros in Dresden, Germany, which will start production in 2026.

The auto and data center chip maker said it would be the largest single investment in its history.

Infineon is seeking 1 billion euros in public funding for the plant, which it says will create around 1,000 jobs.

At full capacity, the fab will generate roughly the same annual revenue as the investment from power semiconductors and analog/mixed-signal components, the company said.
