Nov. 28, 2022 /SemiMedia/ --According to the supply chain, Silicon Labs recently issued a price increase notice to its customers, saying that it will increase product prices in 2023.

Silicon Labs said in the notice that the semiconductor supply chain crisis continues to severely impact various industries around the world. While a recovery in 2023 is in sight, global inflation and investments in semiconductor capacity expansion to meet the growing demands of the global economy continue to increase the cost of manufacturing semiconductors. Silicon Labs is working aggressively to meet current demand and achieve meaningful capacity expansion through all levels of the supply chain through 2023.

Silicon labs stated that due to the global capacity crisis and general inflation in almost all industries, they continue to see cost increases throughout the supply chain (raw materials, foundries, test and assembly, logistics, labor/wages). Therefore, beginning January 1, 2023, Silicon Labs will increase pricing on all legacy product lines and Series1 modules, including existing backlog. However, its newest products, and Series1 ICs/SOCs or any Series2 IC/SOC or module products, are not included in the price increase.
