BusinessKorea: South Korea's exports of semiconductor equipment to China fell 51.89% in the first half of the year

According to BusinessKorea, South Korea's semiconductor equipment exports to China totaled US$694.8 million in the first half of this year, down 51.89% from the same period last year.

The report pointed out that China accounts for 60% of the exports of South Korean semiconductor equipment exporters. The equipments are usually shipped to Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix's memory chip factories in China.

The report believes that the decline in exports is due to the continued competition between China and the United States, which has led to a decrease in semiconductor investment in China. If South Korea joins the Chip 4 Alliance, exports could be greatly affected.
