According to the supply chain, UMC will increase foundry prices on July 1.

Sources said that after July 1, UMC’s foundry price for 28nm process will be approximately US$1,800 per wafer, an increase of nearly 20% from the previous US$1,600. In addition, the source also said that UMC will raise prices again in the first quarter of next year, and the quotation of 28nm process wafers will rise to US$2,300.

Prior to this, on April 22, there were reports that UMC will increase the price of foundry by 10% to 20%, especially 28nm and 40nm process orders will increase by at least 40%.

In addition, UMC’s price increase in 2022 will also apply to UMC’s own IC design company’s orders.
