Walsin and UniRoyal increased the price of chip resistors

SemiMediaEdit
March 3, 2021

According to the supply chain, passive component manufacturers Walsin and UniRoyal recently issued price increase notices for chip resistors to customers.

The price increase notice shows that Walsin raised 15% for large-size chip resistors such as 0603, 0805 and 1206, and 10% for small-size chip resistors such as 0201 and 0402.

Walsin responded that the price will be based on market supply and demand, and emphasized that the company has no finished product inventory except for some semi-finished products. In addition, the company has no plans to expand production on chip resistors in 2021.

In addition, Rubycon also issued a price increase notice last week. The company said that in view of the increase in raw material prices, production restrictions caused by the epidemic, and rising costs, it has decided to increase product prices starting on March 1.
