Infineon Semiconductor ranks first in the world in terms of power semiconductors, ranks first in smart card ICs, and ranks second in the automotive electronics market in global semiconductor giants. Infineon has a total of four business division, including Automotive Electronics Division (ATV), accounting for 42%; Power Management and Diversified Markets Division (PMM) accounting for 31% and Industrial Power Control Division (IPC) for 17 %, Smart Cards and Security Division (CCS) accounted for 10%. As of September 2017, Infineon has 37,500 employees worldwide, and its fiscal year 2017 revenues reached 7.063 billion euros.

Recently, Infineon introduced the application of millimeter-wave radar. Millimeter-wave radar products belong to Infineon's power management and diversification market division. The division mainly expands high-speed data, human-computer interaction, and energy efficiency in three areas. It achieves excellence through LNA/switches and base station SiC/GaN devices. The data transmission capabilities of the leading high-performance MOSFETs and digital power ICs in GaN/SiC devices enable human-computer interaction through an outstanding sensor and radar system. And Infineon's sensor products are very rich, can provide silicon microphones, pressure sensors, optical sensors, environmental sensors, human-computer interaction to achieve 3D perception, Infineon also launched a 60GHz gesture sensor, 24GHz radar sensor, TOF flight Time sensor.

Infineon ranks first in the global market for radars and has sold more than 45 million sensors. From the car to the industry to get involved in multiple markets. For eyeballs, gesture capture, and 3D perception, millimeter-wave radar plus software algorithms are used to achieve millimeter wave applications. However, infrared, laser radar, and independent solutions are also available on the market, and different technologies are used to correspond to different customized algorithms. Millimeter wave as a high-frequency band, countries and regions did not specify and define its use. Therefore, the application prospect of millimeter-wave radar is good, but there are also many challenges.

Infineon has more than a decade of experience in the development and application of millimeter-wave radar, ranking first in the automotive radar market. And from the automotive industry involved in different applications. In Industry 4.0, there are more innovative applications of millimeter-wave radar in smart manufacturing, human-computer interaction, and medical care.
