Supply Chain: Yageo suspends acceptance of new orders for chip resistors

January 3, 2020

According to the supply chain, YAGEO recently issued a notice to suspend the acceptance of new orders for chip resistor from January 1, 2020. The specific reason is that inventory have fallen, orders have continued to rise, and capacity cannot keep up with demand.

At the same time, Yageo updated the chip resistor prices for the first quarter of 2020 on January 1. According to the price adjustment, small-size chip resistor products have increased by 10% across the entire line. Among them, 0603/0805/1206 and 4D02/4D03 (chip resistor array) increased by 15%, and 0402/0201 increased by 10%.

Regarding this supply chain news, Yageo responded yesterday and said it would not comment on market rumors, but the company is watching the market demand in the first quarter, and the price is determined by supply and demand.

In addition, industry insiders revealed that Samsung and Fenghua also reportedly stopped accepting new orders, and the lead time of passive components has been extended to 6 months.
