April 25, 2019

ROHM Semiconductor announced the acquisition of the Diode and Transistor Division of the Panasonic Semiconductor Business Unit.

In order to ensure a stable supply to customers and smooth business transfer, ROHM Semiconductor will temporarily commission Panasonic to produce semiconductor devices to maintain the same supply system as before.

In the future, the two companies will jointly implement the preparation for transfer. Details about the transfer schedule will be discussed in the future.

ROHM Semiconductor said that it will continue to expand its automotive and machinery industry market and expand its business of Zener diodes and TVS diodes for bipolar transistors and circuit protection. To this end, ROHM will actively invest in all operating resources, and strive to strengthen product quality and further improve the stable supply system. ROHM Semiconductor stressed that it took over the semiconductor business from Panasonic in order to further expand its market share.
