In recent times, AMD executives have undergone a major restructuring. Previously, Raja Koduri, senior vice president of Raedon, and Chris Hook, senior director of global product marketing at AMD, have already joined Intel. In addition, Jim Keller, who left AMD and joined Tesla, also joined Intel this year. According to media reports, Mike Rayfield, senior vice president of AMD and general manager of Radeon Technology Division (RTG), also recently announced his retirement.

It is worth mentioning that Rayfield took over Raedon with industry veteran David Wang after Raja Koduri joined Intel. At the time, AMD put its SCBU into RTG because it relied heavily on graphical IP.

AMD also issued a statement on the matter, saying that Rayfield announced that he would retire at the end of the year because he wanted to spend more time with his family to pursue his personal life; David Wang will become the temporary head of the Radeon Technologies Group. AMD also said that his departure will not have a major impact on Raedon's GPU roadmap.

Rayfield has 30 years of industry experience and has worked for Micron and NVIDIA. He served as General Manager of the NVIDIA Mobile Business Unit and served as the Director of the Tegra team. However, according to AMD, he will not join Intel or NVIDIA in the near future like some former colleagues.
